A flute is a magick instrument...
A sonic wand of earth and air...
The hollow vessel allowing form and spirit to unify as sound and music...
A teacher of our true nature as a channel of divine, soulful living intelligence..
A tool to access your soul's melody within the orchestra of creation.
A Native flute is a very easy instrument to learn to play. After learning the chronological finger positions and simple breathing techniques, one can open to an intuitive flow that deeply liberates musical and creative ability and brings you in touch with your soul. It is a joy to see that even those who don’t feel they are musical, find their music through playing a flute!
In the sensitivity of breath-work and finger movement, the unique, intricate voice of the flute opens…
A howling call of ancestral song, carrying indigenous emotions on the rasping wings of an eagles ascent…
Or the bright, joyful innocence of a child chasing a river in the mid-summer sun.
My flutes are fine tuned musical instruments and soul crafted sound healing tools.
Combining the precision of my self taught technique with intuitive 'listening' to the wood, each flute births its own authentic voice.
I aim for good tone progression to keep sharpness and definition with the varying breath preassure.
I love a flute to play loud and quiet without breaking the tone and have a personal preference of just enough back pressure to feel yourself lean into the instrument, but not so much that you have to blow hard.. This tends to the intricacies of sensitive playing.
I tune my flutes most often to the reference of 432hz and they are pitched correctly in an environment temperature of 20 degrees. By nature of the instrument this rises and falls by 30 cents with hotter and colder spaces.
I finish my flutes with a water proof, natural, double boiled linseed oil, which gives a lovely smell and subtle golden enhancement to the wood.
